Know-it-Yourself is an artist book—actually filled with native seeds we got from the RI public library system—about knowing through doing. Jacob Marcus and I collaborated together as we were considering how designers participate in the abstraction of the world rather than designing for being in it. The book is the size of a typical seed packet and contains 3 different seed types, cotton fabric and instructions for sewing a pair of garden gloves. It’s a book that’s meant to be taken apart, used, and provide information in a more immediate way than a book typically does. It’s 2-color risograph printed and stab-bound by us.
